TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE

How does an online love scam looks like? It may come in many forms but to sum up it looks too good to be true.
Most victim of online romance scam are single, widow/widower, aged above 40, lonely and looking for a partner. However if you are not in this category, it does not mean that you are safe from the scam. Everyone needs to be extra careful.
Lets look  into some of the characteristics of an online scam. i.e. How can we identify whether it’s a romance scam or not?
i.             He/she will introduce himself/herself as a professional officer working in a foreign country and always travel around the world;

ii.            He/She speaks poor language especially English and does not match the professional position he/she holds;

iii.           He/she will fall in love with you in a very short period without meeting face to face;

iv.         He/she is a sweet talker and  you will trust  that person immediately without rationalizing the words spoken;

v.           He/she will try to arrange for a face to face meeting, however the plan remains as a plan only;

vi.          He/she will potray themselves  as a very rich and  wealthy person hence will try sending gifts to you;

vii.         He/she will ask you to buy him/her electronic items which he/she promises to pay back later when they meet;

viii.       Profile pictures of him/her might be too good to be true. For a man he looks good, macho man!! For a women; the hour glass look is a must, looking very gorgeous, attractive and sexy. Look at the below picture; both parties assume that the other party is very attractive and good looking but in reality they aren’t .
Don’t trust anything that you see online. Its not a proof of how they look in reality.

Some Terms...

Falling in love is a very serious business and if you fall for the wrong person, you may suffer...but when you become a victim of love, then your nightmare begins. We may call it as INTERNET LOVE, LOVE SCAM, ONLINE ROMANCE SCAM, ONLINE ROMANCE FRAUD...you name it.

Scam can be defined as a dishonest way to make money by deceiving people (Merriam Webster)

Love can be defined as a feeling of strong and constant affection for a person (Merriam Webster)

Thus I interpret Love scam as a dishonest way to make money by cheating or frauding someone through affection. It is an insincere felling (affection, caring, loving) shown to a person to obtain money from them.

Love scam can happen to anyone and anywhere. Online love scam happens through social medias, online dating websites, online matrimony sites and other online chat rooms.

FALL IN LOVE...

Game of Thrones Cast: Kit Harington and Rose Leslie Who Are Also A Real Life Couple Off-Screen

The best ever feeling you may have is when you fall in love with someone special, what more if your love ends up with “and they lived happily ever after” fairy tale ending. Isn’t that wonderful?

Essentially, which part of your body functions the most when you fall in love? Most say its heart; but some say its brain and others might say hmmm…oh forget it..!

According to a research done by Syracuse University (Stephanie Ortigue; 2010), when you fall in love, your brain plays the most important role compared to your heart..

It is so obvious that we use our brain first before letting the cupid strikes..!

THINK BEFORE YOU FALL IN LOVE
